Description Watercolor of Sherwood Plantation, home of George and Ann Booker. Scene is the front of the home, with children and women (some enslaved?) on porches and two men on horeseback, possibly Federal soldiers. According to family tradition, the scene was painted by a Federal soldier of German descent, during the Civil War (c. 1861).
