Description/Scope & Content Multiple plats of properties in the Gainesville subdivision located in the Wythe district near Salters Creek Road and the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. Dated 1884-1957.

-Plat, labeled "Plat of Mrs. C.M. Bickford's Gainesville Tract Situated between Hampton and Newport News, Va." Includes Pennsylvania Avenue, Hanna Street, Day Street, Salters Creek Road (portion does not currently exist), a road labeled "40 Foot by Last Survey" (does not currently exist), as well as First, Second, and Third Streets (do not currently exist). Plat also includes a section of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and a "New Highway" (located on present-day W. Pembroke Avenue). Lower left corner reads, "1G." Note on plat reads, "See Field Book 25-51." Surveyed by Girard Chambers, Sr. Dated December 21, 1911.

-Plat, labeled "Plat of the Property of Sawyer Const. Co." Includes West Pembroke Avenue, the Gainesville subdivision, and a portion of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. Surveyed by John W. Lawson. Dated February 22, 1957.

-Plat, labeled "Plat of a tract of land situate on the Old Newport News Road the Property of I. E. White formerly the property of Saml. Tucker decd. Surveyed at the request of I. E. White." Includes a "Main County Road" (formerly Salters Creek Road, portion does not currently exist) and a portion of the C&O Railroad (on present-day W. Pembroke Avenue). Note on plat reads, "Rec. Surv. Book 2- Page 8 (Abst 4-21)." Surveyed by E. A. Semple. Dated October 20, 1884.

-Sketched plat with notes labeled "Gainesville." Includes Old Salters Creek Road (portion does not currently exist) and a portion of the C&O Railroad. Notes on sheet read, "F-B 25-52" and "Queen-E-Robinson Anna-Mae (Robinson) Williams 218 Lincoln Street." Unsigned, undated.

-Plat, labeled "Plat of I-E-White's Land Formerly Saml. Tucker Dec." Includes Salters Creek Road (portion does not currently exist). Upper right corner reads, "Draw-G." Surveyed by E. A. Semple. Dated May 29, 1884.

-Plat, labeled "Part of Gaineswille." Includes "40 Ft. Road by Last Survey" (does not currently exist), Day Street, Hannah Street, Delaware Street (currently Pennsylvania Avenue), and "Original 30Ft (Shell) Road." Also includes an area labeled "Now a New Road" (currently G Street), and a structure labeled "Lodge." Unsigned, undated.
