|Description/Scope & Content||Interviews with congregants of First Baptist Church of Hampton, conducted between November 2013 and January 2014. 23 individuals participated in 17 total interviews; interviewers were Jeanette Batts, Sadie Eleazar, Jean Hunter, and Collie Eleazar. The interviews were conducted by the church's Archives Committee for First Baptist Church's 150th anniversary. The interviewers narrate their experiences in Hampton during the Jim Crow era and the role the church played in their lives and within the larger African American community in Hampton.|
